Size: 4” & 6”

System Types: Specimen Transfer & Pharmacy Transfer

Product Summary

· Main Station: Central operations location for the pneumatic tube system

· Remote Substation: A location in the patient area that has a terminal to accept carriers from  the main station.

· Supervisor Panel: Provided with each system at the main station to monitor the current status of all transactions in the system.

· Operator Panel: Located on the terminals and used to operate the system. These consist of pushbuttons to identify what the user would like to do.

· Blower Pack Power Unit: Provides the vacuum and pressure action that moves the carriers around in the system.

· Diverters: Used in multi station configurations to allow for the expansion of the system by shifting the transmission line to an appropriate location to allow the carrier to pass to the desired location.

· Transmission Line: The medium in which the carriers move. Generally 16 gauge cold rolled galvanized steel.

In many modern hospitals, blood samples are hand carried from patient and critical care areas to the laboratory for analysis. Emergency room, operating rooms, and intensive care, at time, require immediate blood testing. To accommodate these situations, runners (often medical personnel) are necessary to deliver samples for stat testing. However, the time of the delays with this method can be critical. As an expensive alternative, blood testing equipment have been placed in these critical areas, along with trained lab technicians. Complete satellite labs, strategically located, have also been used to alleviate this problem.

Proper handling of blood samples is important to assure good test results. Time. temperature and agitation can damage the sample, thereby affecting the accuracy of the tests.

The solution is the Specimen Transfer & Pharmacy Transfer systems. The multi-tube systems are microprocessor controlled, and provide a direct path from point to point. The design of these systems allow for configuration of as little as one station to as many as you need. The immediate and safe delivery of critical and non-critical specimens will have a profound effect on patient care. The elimination of medical and non-medical personnel to hand carry specimens to the lab or medications from the pharmacy will greatly reduce costs and save time.
